The property website Rightmove has launched a new venture targeting the student market, which is accessible through its main site, and which provides a search function specifically for student properties across the UK.
Initially, property marketing for students focuses on the three big university cities of Sheffield, Birmingham and Southampton, but the project will be rolled out across the country over the coming 12 months, according to propertytalk live.
“Rightmove Students offers a way for lettings agents to specifically target the student market and we have already had a great response from agents who have been quick to sign up to this new venture. We hope to help simplify the searching process by bringing students and lettings agents together on-line in one easy place,” Miles Shipside, director of Rightmove, reportedly said.
Rightmove member agents can sign up to Rightmove Students and list student lettings for free, according to the report, and the service will be launched properly with a large email property marketing campaign through UCAS, as well as with onsite and social media promotions.
Rightmove reportedly receives over 25,000 searches for student properties every month via a standard filter on its search results page, suggesting that there is significant demand for a dedicated service for this clientele.
