A star of the TV show Dragons Den has given his backing to a new model of estate agency, designed to succeed in the digital era.
One time “Dragon” James Caan is the money man behind online estate agency Ivy Gate, which offers property marketing services acorss Greater London.
Using People Skills and Online Presence to Sell Property
Currently operating out of premises in Surrey, using the Rightmove property sales portal and with their own website still to go live, Ivy Gate aims to combine traditional people skills with a strong online presence to win itself a place in the heavily technological modern property market.
Caan’s backing comes through centric venture capital operation, Hamilton Bradshaw Real Estate, of which the multi millionaire is the chairman.
Dragon Enjoys Enthusiasm of Internet-Based Agency
Exaplining the decision to back the venture he explained that he had been wooed by the enthusiasm of the Ivy Gate property marketing team as well as believe it was the right time for an internet focused agency.
He said: “I’m proud to be backing Ivy Gate. I have, throughout my career, invested in people with passion and energy, and the team which Jason has assembled are amongst the most talented in the industry. Ivy Gate offers a unique proposition, focusing on personal service and use of technology which will challenge the traditional high street estate agents.”
The investment firm has announced it intends to pump a total of £10m into around 20 startups within the property marketing sector.
